DIY Cake Stand

cakestand1

Yes, I know, cake/cupcake stands aren’t exactly new to the blogosphere, but I thought it was high time we had a round up of the best on The Curb. Some are ingenious in the materials used, some are simply pretty. All of them, however, prove that you can use just about ANYTHING to make a cake stand.

My Mother is an Extrovert

How do you deal with an extrovert when you are an introvert feeling drained of everything and yet still being given lists of more stuff to do as if you are a bottomless well unable to run dry?

I’m an introvert. The bus is one of my favourite things to do because you can be out of the house and lose yourself completely for an hour without having to do anything at all. No matter what the bus will go along and eventually take you back to where you started from.

My comment on the post:

I had to drop out of college when I couldn’t afford to finish my last semester. I was renting an apartment and sub-renting to another student. When she decided to move out I was sunk. Could not pay all the rent myself. Put stuff on a credit card and I still have a bad credit rating – even though my own checks on it say I have nothing bad. That was over 10 years ago. I wish I had been able to finish college, Corporate Communications. But, here I am. I keep my head above water and my only current debt is a department store credit card which was over $2000 but this tax season I used my refunds to pay it off, mostly. So, I’m mostly debt free but I don’t have a car or anything much to show for it. I wonder if it’s better to have the debt than to not have the debt?

A Different Kind of Beauty

Found online tonight:

“There is an inner beauty about a woman who believes in herself, who knows she is capable of anything that she puts her mind to. There is a beauty in the strength and determination of a woman who follows her own path, who isn’t thrown off by obstacles along the way. There is a beauty about a woman whose confidence comes from experiences; who knows she can fall, pick herself up, and move on”

No Complaints

Today is a good day for going back to bed. Or, working in my pajamas all day, ignoring the phone and the door. It’s the kind of breezy day that makes you feel you alone survived the terrible crushing attack that killed off the rest of the planet. You survived… and now you can go back to bed cause there isn’t anything really urgent and pressing any more. No one will complain about you being late, ever again.
