Will You be Blogging for Christmas?

Christmas is on my mind today. I’m watching romantic holiday movies. Right now The Lake House with Keanu Reeves. I admit I have a thing for Keanu. How could any Canadian woman not have a soft spot for a hockey player who can dance? It’s just finishing up, the final scene, the last great kiss. Funny that he looks older in this movie and yet there is still just something about him… Well, you don’t really want to read my mind babbling on about Keanu Reeves.

Will you be blogging for Christmas? Do you keep blogging during the holidays or do you put your blog into suspended animation?

I will be here. For me I like having some alone time during the holidays. This year it is mucked up cause my sister is having a baby and I am the prime babysitter for her other children, those who have left the womb. I will be glad when the babysitting time is done. I am loving having the house to myself for this bit of time. I can cook things the way I like them, or not bother with cooking or eating at all. I did make the Christmas cookies. So I’m not being wicked and lazy and forgetting about the holiday thing. Later, I will haul the Christmas tree and the box of decorations out of the garage. Not looking forward to finding out if mice got in there or not. I’m hoping for at least not too much.

How is your holiday spirit hanging on? Blog about it! :)

I applied to 9Rules for Word Grrls

Word Grrls is about creative writing inspiration with the focus on writing prompts/ exercises. I’ve been writing on the web since 1998. I admit I can be opinionated (some claim eccentric and some are kind and say I’m wise) but I love web writing and publishing, particularly blogging. To me blogging is still about free writing and creativity.

I have been publishing Word Grrls with a daily entry since November 2007. Before that it was weekly. I’m used to having a publishing schedule and I like the discipline of having that schedule to stick to.

I would very much like to be part of 9Rules and the community here. Not only as a help in promoting Word Grrls but to be part of something bigger again. I miss working within a larger network of sites. People get a lot of feedback and push to keep going in an active community. I also like to be part of building something. I was an active editor at Dmoz.org for over ten years cause I enjoyed tidying and adding to the categories and finding new ideas and hobbies for myself.

I can’t pick a favourite post. In a blog each post should be able to stand on it’s own. Most people only skim the first post before they decide to read more or click off. I like my current post about the goldfish. It may be a bit dorky but it was what I thought about at the time I saw the baby goldfish in the backyard pond.

I don’t know what else to babble on about. I’ve done more than a few sentences. I would appreciate to hear back from someone. I applied March 8th 2009 and was pretty disappointed when nothing happened and there were no updates on the 9Rules blog. I really hope 9Rules is going to revamp and start up again. Being part of 9Rules was one of the goals I had for this blog at the time I started it. :)

PodCasting WordPress

On my ever growing list of things to do. I want to learn more about podcasting. I seem to remember typing that here already, not so long ago. Anyway, still there.

I found a site that does a podcast about WordPress and blogging . Have not listened to it yet but the preview of links posted to the blog makes it sound good. Can’t listen right now cause the Momborg (to borrow Claire’s name for her Mother) is sleeping, trying to get rid of her cold.

I am even making a new tag for podcast on this blog. That gives me the hope I can find all the stuff I have bloggered about it when I actually do something about it. I do have a microphone, that’s a start on the hardware. (Always be optimistic!)

The Harry Potter Husband Test

This one was on Blogging Den 2 . Your result for The Harry Potter Husband Test…

Mrs. Bill Weasley

Your perfect HP man is Bill Weasley.

You like guys who are cool. And not cool in that fake, dicky way, but actually cool. He’s so cool that they couldn’t find any actor to adequately portray him, so they decided to just leave him out of the movies rather than risk not doing justice to his coolness. He’s like the Chuck Norris of Harry Potter: plain freaking awesome. When Voldemort says “You-Know-Who”, he’s talking about Bill Weasley.

The Further Chronicles of Bloggia

Today I’m watching a Terminator marathon on the Space channel. All the first season of the Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles . I think most interesting part of the show is the robot which Summer Glau does. Interesting about how she has a mysterious background and is already more human than any of the other robots. Also, how she becomes more human and yet is still a robot too. Anyway, I just like an interesting story about people, even if they are robots. Or maybe more if they are robots cause I have always had a soft spot for robots and aliens.

I found out that the template I bought for Word Grrls isn’t all original work. The graphic for the header is pretty much for rent to anyone who pays something for it. I had thought it was part of an original design. So I’m disappointed. I guess if I were smarter I would have known that, not assumed otherwise. So that makes it a bit easier to decide about what to do with the blogginess. I still need a name for it but I’m going to go with a blog about blogging, sort of. I need a name and a slant, twist to make it uniquely me and not so much of clone of so many others out there.
