Considering Domain Selling

I’m getting less fond of the whole grrl thing. Originally I had the domain thatgrrl.com but it was hijacked. Then I bought thatgrrl.ca which I will keep forever, I’m pretty sure. Never say forever.

But, I am thinking on and off about not keeping thegrrl.com. It seems to be liked by SEO types. I’ve accepted a paid ad to run on the domain this year and an invite to renew it next year. But…

I’ve never sold a domain and it seems I shouldn’t just leave this one to be picked up by someone who will do nothing with it. My old thatgrrl.com is has been a dead end ever since they hijacked it. Sad to see it made into a spam page after all the thought I put into choosing just the right domain name for me, at the time anyway.

Has anyone sold a domain before? How did it go? How did you decide what to sell it for? Did you have regrets later?

Never Enough Time

I wish I had time post keep posting here as well as the other blogs I keep going. Most nights I am online until 3:00 AM just trying to keep up. It doesn’t work all that well. I’m tired almost all the time. I’m not writing as well as I could. Overall I just feel I’m not accomplishing anything that matters so I keep trying to do more, taking on too many things. It’s kind of crazy.

Anyway, I have created a main page on my ThatGrrl.ca domain. Twitter me @thatgrrl if you want something more interactive.

Host and Domain Turbulence

The domain I bought for this blog is up for renewal and I think I will just not bother. Today it is down. Third time this year, not calendar year but year since I last paid. Not worth it for a personal blog. People have said they had trouble getting the domain to load at various times.

I may just move thatgrrl.ca over to the new web host and have it as the blog domain. I can have a domain hosted there free as I already have one. Nicer than paying for the same thing twice.

Anyway, if you notice the missing header with the blog title, now you know why it is missing. I should start storing them on the other host.

Web Host Down

Sometime today my usually very reliable host at Geohost.ca has gone down. Seems even the company site is 404. So my thegrrl.com domain is down, as well as thatgrrl.ca which I also have through them. I changed the blog back to the blogspot address but all my graphics are hosted on my domain so they will not be making an appearance until the domain problem is fixed. Just in case you were wondering.
