Rhinestone Daisy Brooch & Earring Set

daisy brooch set

Three of my favourite things (and I have a lot of favourite things) are: brooches, rhinestones and simple daisies. This brooch and earring set is something I’d love. But, I don’t actually wear jewellery. I have some hanging around to be admired. That’s how I like it. daisy brooch set daisybrooches2 via – WEISS Daisy Brooch & Earring Set – White and Rhinestone Petals | New Leaf Galleries | Home Again .

Chrome Daisy

There’s a Lady Gaga theme on Facebook games ( a few of them) now. I had never heard of her until my Mom came back from Florida and was talking about her last year. Mom likes to was the American Idol show and Lady Gaga was on there as well. She’s younger than I thought. Anyway, I liked the idea of shiny, chrome daisies when I saw them come up with the new stuff on Facebook. Daisies are nice in all kinds of designs. I especially like them done in blue and white. Chrome would be pretty too, more glamorous than pretty maybe.

I also found that you can get chrome daisy styled tail light covers if you have a VW Beetle car. That would be pretty cute. Though they would suit the head lights better, since they could be white then instead of red. But, it could be less than safe to have anything partially covering your head lights.

Valentine Daisy

I scanned the single daisy from a sales flyer in the newspaper this week. Pretty with the daisy and red heart in the centre. But the colours don’t scan well from newsprint grade paper. Still, you get the idea.

The other flowers are from one of those sites sellng bouquets online. I had the link on Facebook and don’t even remember the site now. Great flower combination. I really like how cheery they look.

The Arte y Pico Award

premio-arte-y-pico

Thank you to Jennifer at Robin’s Woods for picking me out of the crowds of creative bloggers for this award. It is especially nice as I have seen and enjoyed Jennifer’s photos. She knows how to put together something to show it artistically and beautifully.

The Arte y Pico Award was created to be given to bloggers who inspire others with their creative energy and talent whether it’s writing or artwork in all types of media. When you receive this award it is considered a “special honor”. Upon winning this award you are to explain the rules and then choose 5 other blogs that you feel deserving of this award. Here, then, are the rules…

1) You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also for contributing to the blogging community, no matter what language.

2) Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.

3) Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.

4) Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of “Arte y Pico” blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award. http://arteypico.blogspot.com/ .

The five blogs I am sending this award to are:

Claire at A Little Piece of Me : Claire brings Doodle Week to life with her help on the site, promoting it and her doodles for the banners, badges and all the work she has put into it on Flickr. I’d also give the award to Claire for her own blog, her doodles are colourful in so many ways, the actual colours are just the beginning.

Brady at Hunting the Muse : I look forward to Brady’s posts. His best posts are warm, not backing away from being human and vulnerable at times. I also like his photo at the end of the post, his writing prompts for anyone who chooses to use them.

Daisy at Daisy the Curly Cat : Yes, it’s a bit odd to give an award to an animal but Daisy’s roommate (we all know cats don’t have owners) is pretty behind the scenes. She takes the photos, makes the cartoons and writes the air bubble comments. Daisy makes me laugh and I like the style of her cartoons, the photos turned into a cartoon.

Pete of Rainy Pete’s Unbalanced World and Useless Advice from Useless Men : Pete has amazing photos and a great sense of humour. He has a lot of heart. Also, he is one of the few bloggers I have met in person. We took photos of an abandoned house. Pete was bold/ crazy enough to go inside.

Debbie of InkyGirl and Will Write for Chocolate : She has contributed a lot to writers online. Not everyone online now will know about her network, InkSpot. It’s long gone but was a mega resource and community when it was around. It has never really been replaced. I don’t think it can be, she just came at the right time and place. Nowadays Debbie is drawing cartoon strips geared to writers and she continues to update her blog with news, ideas and profiles of writers.
