Are you a Winter Person?

You Are a Winter Person

You are calm, serious, and focused.

You’re the type of person who appreciates the quiet and calm.

Winter is the perfect time for you to get cozy and work on a hobby.

Summer is a bit too hectic for you. You like the dead of winter… preferably with a roaring fire inside.

Web Host Down

Sometime today my usually very reliable host at Geohost.ca has gone down. Seems even the company site is 404. So my thegrrl.com domain is down, as well as thatgrrl.ca which I also have through them. I changed the blog back to the blogspot address but all my graphics are hosted on my domain so they will not be making an appearance until the domain problem is fixed. Just in case you were wondering.

Yucky

I’m itchy and yucky feeling. My throat is sore, even ice cream didn’t help beyond a slight freezing for a few seconds. I have a Christmas tree pulled upstairs to put up and I have people over-running the house who don’t fit into friends or family, not for me anyway. I’m sick of renovations that drag on for years. I’m fed up with worrying about money when the bills don’t reflect reality, at least not mine. And I’m cold too. We have already gotten a few feet of snow outside. I should write something more interesting but I just feel too yucky.

Your Snow Test Says You’re Agreeable

You feel like something good will happen to you eventually, but not soon.

You love to work, especially when work is creative. You have the makings of a successful artist.

You are a cooperative, agreeable person. You enjoy the company of others, and you enjoy compromising for the good of the group.

Your biggest worry in your life is your health. You tend to be a bit of a hypochondriac.

When it comes time to relax, you have difficulty relaxing. You are a bit high strung.

What Would Buffy Do?

It’s a silly blog title. I’m not even posting about Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Sarah Michelle Geller, not really. I just keep looking at her picture on a book cover as I sit here at my nephew’s computer. He has two Buffy books on his desk.

I found this great swirling snowflake background image which I want to save. Thought this was as easy as emailing it to myself. I’m more likely to find it here versus forgetting it in my swamp of email.

I should be home again tomorrow. Almost a week of babysitting. Stretched longer cause they are supposed to be sanding the drywall in the basement and there is a lot of dust. Unless they clean up after themselves there will still be a lot of dust when I am back tomorrow but I guess the idea is that it will have settled by then.

I just want to sleep in my own bed again rather than the couch here. I want my computer too. I wonder if the milk I just bought for coffee will still be any good by the time I get back. All these little things that make a life.

The Snowman By Lynn Zirkel

The Snowman

I built him with laughter
And warm winter smiles.
I built him so tall
You can see him for miles,
And at night the starlight
Makes him glint like a king,
And the moonbeams dance around
As the winter winds sing.

I built him with joy
For Christmas is here.
He’s my champion my trophy,
My prize for the year.
And the glow from the snow
Paints him silvery bright,
And my king among snowmen
Glistens snow white.

But spring holds his future
For winter won’t last,
And my snowman will melt
To a thing of the past.
But each year for ever
His memory will bring
A crown for his throne
With the snowdrops of spring.
