Never Enough Time

I wish I had time post keep posting here as well as the other blogs I keep going. Most nights I am online until 3:00 AM just trying to keep up. It doesn’t work all that well. I’m tired almost all the time. I’m not writing as well as I could. Overall I just feel I’m not accomplishing anything that matters so I keep trying to do more, taking on too many things. It’s kind of crazy.

Anyway, I have created a main page on my domain. Twitter me @thatgrrl if you want something more interactive.

Funny Valentine is Faulty

The date tonight was a no show. I had a pretty strong feeling he was going to not show up or cancel (preferred option as I didn’t really NEED to freeze waiting for the bus to and from). But, I showed up cause I had said I would.

I did think he might come. We had been talking about a mutual interest in the paranormal, local history and the old buildings. But, I was there early and waited until quarter after when I had to leave to catch the bus home. (Didn’t really want to spend a half hour waiting for the next one).

On the plus side, I did finish the book I was reading and the coffee I got at the Second Cup was pretty good. Not as good as the caramelo flavour or the latte would have been. I decided to try something else.

Update: It is 3:30 AM and I am at my sister’s house, just finishing the last of my laundry. It has gotten way behind with Sears not getting the new machine working for so long. I am happy to feel clean, warm clothes again, especially when they are my own and not the laundry I have done for my sister’s family here. Anyway, I did hear from my Friday evening date. He was just late. Actually, must have missed me by the barest minute. I left at quarter after. Poked around, taking a few photos of the lights on main street. Then headed up to catch the bus. He got there about 18 minutes after. My coffee cup was still on the table even. So we will try again.

Funny how the same thing happened last week with a different guy. In that case he started talking about sex, sex, sex and sex and when I didn’t have the right answers for him he just forgot I existed. I am sure that is why I decided I was stood up again tonight rather than waiting until tomorrow to be sure. I did check email just before I left Barrie to come out here tonight though. That was about 8:30. So I wasn’t too quick to jump to conclusions. Quick enough maybe, on messy, snowy night. But, I didn’t blow a gasket at least.

I am so tired now. Just need to flip the last load into the dryer. I really hope the dryer from Sears works and that is not the next thing I need to deal with. I want a break. One day without problems I didn’t cause. Really, doesn’t is seem fair that you should only have to deal with the stuff you have messed up yourself? Isn’t that enough?

Nightie night.

My Fairy Horoscope

Daily Horoscope for Sagittarius

Jan 29, 06:30 AM

You’re totally right: It’s time for a change. But go easy — while you need a fresh start, making unnecessary waves won’t help you reach your goal faster. Move slowly, and these changes are more likely to be permanent.

So the fairies say… so mote it be. Actually sounds like good advice. I wasn’t expecting much from a fairy site.

I'm the Answer… Just Ask Me

I am officially the answer to the meaning of life or life the universe and everything. You’d think I would remember but… when you get old you forget. 42 isn’t quite so new and shiny any more. I think I’m going to have to stop plucking the grey strands of hair out of my head soon and just decide to colour or not to colour. When I was 14 I decided I wouldn’t colour my hair. That was a long time ago. I’ve revised my opinion.

So how does it feel to be the answer to life the universe and everything? Not too bad actually. It could be worse.

Of course, it does mean Christmas is also officially upon us. I didn’t end up putting up the tree and now I’m going to be away so it will remain vacuum sealed (not quite) for another year. It must be getting kind of yucky smelling in it’s box, never seeing the light of day or getting a bit of air to brush away the cobwebs. Of well, it will survive, it’s plastic. Like the bugs it will outlive us all.

I am still awake and thinking of things to pack and how to pack them. It’s 2:31 AM by my not so reliable clock. I am to meet my brother at the Scarborough Town Centre at 10:00 AM. The funny thing is I could leave now if the place were open. There wouldn’t be any coffee though. I’d likely sit there in the dark for hours and fall asleep finally out of boredom.

I like being out early. I’m sure I have mentioned that somewhere in here. Saying it at all is just a refresher for anyone who happened to pop in for a quickie. Of course, now that I’m 42 I probably need help remembering too. Should I make a list of my likes and dislikes in case I get overly feeble minded this year?

Although, this should be a really good year you would think. How often do you get to be something Monty Python thought was the answer to everything? It only happens once in a lifetime, if you stuck around this long. Face it, who really thinks getting old is great, it’s just better than the other option (by a long shot).

Some things are good about being 40-something. It’s different from the other decades. I feel like a different person at times. But, I wonder if 30-something wasn’t the best of all. It’s a shame you can’t pick out the brain parts you like ahead of time and keep them with the other brain parts you liked from earlier in your life. That would make me a super brain of course. I’m sure there would be no living with me then. I’d be really full of myself.

I still need to whip through a few more dishes. I decided to wash all the pots and pans and put them away all clean and sparkly before I go. I don’t know why. Is it a sign of early dementia or alzheimers or something else I’ve forgotten how to spell?

Oh well. I’m here. This is the start of year 42 if you’re interested in measuring the whole thing. Why would you though? Get a life!

I am taking the camera, just so you are warned there will be more family photos once I am back. I’m sure you will be biting your nails in anticipation. Try not to hold your breath, that would make the nail biting a lot harder.

On the Road Again…

The plan is to leave here while it’s still the AM hours and get out to Newmarket before noon. That’s the plan. So, who knows what will happen from there. Plans are like that, at least with me.

I’m going to bus out to Newmarket tomorrow and then visit family till after Christmas. I hope we will make some Christmas cookies. I know Roxanne would really enjoy helping to make them. The rest would enjoy eating them.

That’s it for today. I should get something done besides email and blogging. I did wash the dishes though, that’s something. Right?
