The Magic Bank Account

This was in my email today, forwarded from my Mom:

Magic Bank Account
Something to think about …
Imagine that you had won the following *PRIZE* in a contest:
Each morning your bank would deposit $86,400 in your private account for your use. However, this prize has rules :
The set of rules:

1. Everything that you didn’t spend during each day would be taken away from you.
2. You may not simply transfer money into some other account.
3. You may only spend it.
4. Each morning upon awakening, the bank opens your account with another $86,400 for that day.
5. The bank can end the game without warning; at any time it can say,“Game Over!” It can close the account and you will not receive a new one.
What would you personally do?
You would buy anything and everything you wanted right?
Not only for yourself, but for all the people you love and care for. Even for people you don’t know, because you couldn’t possibly spend it all on yourself, right?

You would try to spend every penny, and use it all, because you knew it would be replenished in the morning, right?
ACTUALLY, This GAME is REAL ….

Shocked ??? YES!
Each of us is already a winner of this *PRIZE*. We just can’t seem to see it.
This PRIZE is *TIME*
1. Each morning we awaken to receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of life.
2. And when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is NOT credited to us.
3. What we haven’t used up that day is forever lost.
4. Yesterday is forever gone.
5. Each morning the account is refilled, but the bank can dissolve your account at any time WITHOUT WARNING …

SO, what will YOU do with your 86,400 seconds?

Those seconds are worth so much more than the same amount in dollars. Think about that, and always think of this: Enjoy every second of your life, because time races by so much quicker than you think.

So take care of yourself, be happy, love deeply and enjoy life!

Here’s wishing you a wonderful and beautiful day.

Start spending …

Over Watching

soccer This is quoted from a friend online. Of course, he has the typical US anti-soccer/ pro-baseball attitude. I lived in the US and did watch baseball. If there is any sport I would call dull (or close to as dull as watching golf) it would be baseball. The players don’t even look like atheletes, most are chubby. I don’t have a thing against chubby or heavier men, they just don’t seem like athletes (other than the armchair type). Anyway, beyond the soccer, golf, or baseball cultural bias…

Watching any sport is like watching a game play itself. Unless you are actually involved it is all kind of just watching. No wonder people eat when they watch TV, it is kind of unsatisfying and then there are all the commercials for food of course.

Do you watch any particular sport on TV and find yourself going for a snack more often than you would if you were watching a mystery, or game show or just about anything else which does not show people involved in exercise?

Blue Jays Remind Me

This blue jay comes from a game application on Facebook. But blue jays always make me think of my Grandfather, who was a bird watcher and gardener. Also, the house I grew up in where we always had blue jays calling each other from the backyard which ended in a steep ravine behind our house.

Facebook Horoscope for Today

Laura,
You are thinking about the deep mysteries of life, the world, and everything. You may be turning to the older members of your family or community for advice and insight, because you are feeling confused about your personal, social or cultural values.

Even the Facebook application knows I am wandering through the deep, thick woods of my own brain these days. I have become entangled in Facebook games, far too many of them and far too many hours spent there. Although, half of the time spent is just waiting for the games to load or move from one screen to the next (which is also loading in the technical sense).

This is what I wrote in my Facebook status just now:

It’s a bit gross how much of these Facebook games I am playing lately. I used to see real stuff on my profile here. Now it is all game spam. I need a change. I need a break. I need a lot of things and the only one who can do anything about it is me.

Yet, I will be there tomorrow, feeding the llamas, picking the cherries, scaring the bear, etc. I need a new obsession.
